Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026 — ReelEstate (the "App"), operated by ReelEstate ("we", "us").
This document describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use the ReelEstate iOS app and reelestate.dev website. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Name, email, phone number, profile photo, and role (buyer, agent, office). For agents: license number, brokerage affiliation, bio, specializations.
- User-generated content. Property listings, photos and videos you upload (including reels with audio), comments, messages, voice narration, and saved searches.
- Subscription information. Purchase records from Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes payment; we receive only transaction identifiers, product IDs, renewal/expiry dates, and notification events — never your payment-card data.
- Usage data. Listings you view, reels you watch or interact with, follows, bookmarks, search queries, open-house RSVPs and check-ins, message and conversation metadata.
- Device information. Device model, iOS version, app version, and a randomly-generated device identifier used for crash diagnostics.
- Location. If you grant permission, your approximate location is used to show nearby properties and calculate commute estimates. Location is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers in association with your profile unless you explicitly save a search or property.
- Camera, microphone, photo library, speech recognition. Accessed only when you actively use the related feature (recording a reel, capturing a property photo, recording voice narration, generating subtitles). Captured media stays on-device until you choose to upload it.
2. How we use information
- Provide and operate the App (display reels, host listings, deliver messages, run search).
- Authenticate accounts and protect against abuse.
- Process subscriptions and grant access tied to your subscription tier or office seat.
- Send service-related notifications (a teammate invited you, a message arrived, an open house starts soon).
- Improve performance and fix bugs (aggregated, non-identifying diagnostics).
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We share data only as follows:
- Public profile content. Your name, role, bio, profile photo, listings, and reels are visible to other users of the App. If you set your account to private (where supported) only followers see your reels.
- Within an office. If you redeem an office invite code, the office owner and other agents in the office can see your agent profile, listings, and team analytics.
- Service providers. Supabase (database / authentication / file storage), Apple (payments and platform), Google (Gemini API for parsing listing documents when you use the AI Import feature), and Resend (transactional email for office invitations). These vendors are bound by data-processing agreements limiting use to providing the service.
- Legal. When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
4. AI features (Gemini)
When you use AI Listing Import, the document or image you submit is sent to Google's Gemini API for one-time parsing. We do not use that content to train models, and Google's terms for the Gemini API likewise prohibit using your data for model training.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you request deletion (see Section 8), we delete profile data, listings, reels, and personal messages within 30 days. Anonymized aggregates and information we are required to retain for legal/financial reasons may persist beyond this window.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest via Supabase's managed Postgres and Storage. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel and audited. No system is 100% secure; we will notify you of a breach affecting your data without undue delay.
7. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
You can:
- Access, edit, or download your profile data from inside the App.
- Request deletion by tapping "Request Account Deletion" in the Edit Profile screen (opens a pre-filled email to support).
- Cancel your subscription anytime from your iOS device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- If you are in the EU, UK, or California, request a copy of the data we hold about you, restrict processing, or object to processing.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. By using the App from outside the US, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the US.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will notify you in-app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
